Fun & Games to Fight Alzheimer’s

Game Friendzy is hosting a fun-filled day on Wednesday, June 17, as part of the Alzheimer’s Association’s “Do What You Love to End ALZ” fundraising effort to work towards a future without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.

Activities will include social bridge, an American Contract Bridge League game, a mah jongg and canasta session, an instructor-led crafting session on quilling, and an all-day complimentary “Food Friendzy” finger foods buffet!

Twenty percent of the net proceeds from these fun and fundraising games and activities will go to support Alzheimer’s research and care.

All Day! Complimentary!
Enjoy a delicious buffet of finger foods, including cheeses, crackers, vegetables, dips, fruits, and desserts. 

Social Bridge “Shuffle & Deal” Session
9:30-11:30 am, $12/player
Play in this non-competitive duplicate bridge game where you can ask questions of the faciltator as you are playing and discuss the hands at completion. No partners or reservations are needed for this relaxed game. Hand records will be available.

Crafting Session on Quilling
9:30-11:30 am, $20/participant
Learn how to roll thin strips of paper into coils with a quilling tool, manipulate the coils into shapes, then assemble into decorative designs, guided by instructor Barbara Sentel. The session will focus on flowers, petals, circles, hearts, and other shapes, which participants will fashion into cards, gift tags, or pictures. 

ACBL Duplicate Bridge Game
12-3:30 pm, $12/player
Open and 0-750 Games
Sections may be combined at the discretion of the director
Earn extra black masterpoints, with no extra fee, as we are covering the fee!

Mah Jongg & Canasta Social Play Session
1-3 pm, $12/player
Play two-, three-, and four-person variations of either game, depending on attendance. A facilitator will assist with playing. Supplies provided. 

The fees are $12/player for “Shuffle & Deal” social bridge, the ACBL bridge game, and the mah jongg and canasta social play session, and $20/participant for the quilling craft session.

Game Friendzy is an accessible facility with free parking located at 7 Carnegie Plaza, Suite 400. Entrance and parking located at the back of the FOX Rehabilitation office building.
